Their Story
Frida came into our lives on February 12, 2018 — just two days after she was born. She was so small she fit in one hand, white as snow with soft orange markings that looked painted on by someone who loved her already. She was shy at first. New people had to earn her. She would watch from a safe distance — the top of the bookshelf, the far corner of the hallway — taking her time before deciding you were worth coming closer to. But once you were in, you were in completely. She had a particular way of appearing silently beside you during the hard moments, like she had her own quiet alarm for when you needed company. She loved warm patches of sunlight on the floor, the sound of a rustling plastic bag from three rooms away, and any box that arrived in the house — regardless of size. Her folded ears gave her a permanent look of gentle wisdom. Her round amber eyes missed nothing. She was a collector. Hair ties, bottle caps, the occasional sock — if it was small enough to carry, it became hers. She tolerated baths with quiet dignity and absolutely zero enthusiasm. She slept pressed against your legs and purred like a small engine when she was happy. She was not loud about her love. But it was everywhere, every day — in the way she waited at the door, in the warmth she left behind on the couch, in the way she looked at you like she had already decided everything would be fine.
